web art project -need help
anyone want to help me with a little internet art project?
here’s what I need:
is it possible/easy to make a webpage into a thumbnail grid, and then post various thumbnails to that grid, to specific grid locations, based on certain attributes of the images (defined in metadata, not in the image itself)? does that make sense?
ie.
-the page is divided into a, say 10 x 30 grid
-users upload photos to the site, with metadata equalling cardinal coords of the grid, say: “3,12″ = x axis 3, y axis 12, corresponing to thumbnail spots on the grid
-and then the system posts photos (from all uploaded photos) to the grid, with a random selection of photos going into each correct grid spot
-a flickr module to grab photos with certain metadata from Flickr.com (?)
probably a flash display of some kind.
make sense? easy? hard?
if anyone is able/interested… post here or send me an email (hugh AT dosemagazine D0t com) … I can describe the project in more detail (in secret!). Internet fame and glory guaranteed for s/he who joins up!!!!

It shouldn’t be difficult to do this at all. Any competent web-designer should be able to build an application that handles this.
